Lobby of The Hilton Netherland Plaza
Once the hotel’s grand lobby, the Palm Court is now the Netherland Plaza's lobby bar. The Louis XV style murals along the ceiling are a bit of a departure from the overall French art deco style of the hotel, but they are part of the original decor. The bar was originally a ticket booth at Cincinnati’s other Art Deco wonder, Union Terminal (former train station; currently a museum center). PC has been voted “Best Martini Bar,” “Best Retro Bar,” and “Most Romantic Bar” by Cincy publications. Happy Hour Monday-Friday, 4pm-6pm with half price appetizer menu.
122 Sixth Street East
Don’t want the night to end? Hunter & Nora recommend for guests to head to Igby’s! Open from 4:00pm-2:30am, Igby’s is a great location for any guests who want to keep the party going! Igby's is located 2 blocks from the Reception & Hotel at cross streets 6th & Walnut.
525 Race Street
Located 350ft away from the Netherland Plaza, Maplewood Kitchen & Bar is a perfect brunch option close by. Hunter & Nora recommend The Maplewood Hash to try Goetta - one if their favorite Cincinnati specialty foods!
643 Vine Street
Located 2 blocks from the Netherland Plaza, Skyline Chili is one of Cincinnati's most famous restaurants that opened in 1949 and has grown to be a local "fast-casual" chain! Hunter & Nora's first stop when back in KY is at Skyline for their coneys & ways! If you've never tried it before, Hunter & Nora recommend throwing the word "chili" out the window, and imagine a hot dog or spaghetti topped with a savory sauce with a hint of sweet, finished off with freshly shredded cheddar. It's hard to describe because there's nothing quite like it- just try it! While Skyline has a chili forward menu, they do offer great greek salads & wraps, too!
Please note this location is not open on Sundays. Please visit a further location at 35 Carothers Road in Newport, KY if you want Skyline on Sunday! There is also a location in the CVG airport for anyone flying in & out.
919 Vine Street
Located 0.4 miles / 4 blocks from the Netherland Plaza, Hunter & Nora had their first Cincinnati date at Scotti's Italian Restaurant. Scotti's opened in 1912 and has a super cool ambiance. Due to it's old school nature, this restaurant is small and reservations are highly recommended- you can make them by calling 513-721-9484. You must order the garlic bread!
705 E. Pete Rose Way
